Final Project Explanation

For my final project I decided to use Mount Rushmore.  This is a very well known thing among everyone.  The first picture that I used is a regular daytime picture looking up into the monument with a nice blue sky.  I Used this picture because I feel as if I am there looking up at the monument myself.  I used the pink tint because it looks as if the sun is setting on it giving it that pink glow.

I pimped out the backround of the picture with fireworks.  I did this because it is like they are celebrating our past presidents and our history.  For the last picture I went with a mod/pimp and replaced the presidents faces with the Beatles.  I did this because I like the Beatles very much.  I also thought that the fireworks would go with it to celebrate what the Beatles have accomplised.

As for essential questions of philosophy.  I feel as for what is true that the Beatles and those presidents are great influential people in history and to this day.  As for what is good all those characters in this project are great people and loved by everyone.  What is the right thing to do would be those presidents did great things for this country.  the Beatles did great things for music and are one of the most influential bands ever.  They may have been a bad influence for others cause of the drugs, but that is part of music.

I noticed how all those presidents were some of the best presidents in history.  So when I was adding changes it came to me to use four other very influential characters in history.  So when I was thinking of which four people to use that were related I thought of the Beatles.  Which worked out real nice.

Overall this project represents alot of things that I like.  Im not to fond of the government,  This is why I changed the faces to the Beatles.  They are one of my favorite bands and someone I really like and can relate to better than the presidents.  The fireworks are there to celebrate them and everything that they did.

Comic Anaylsis

In this comic strip i have a green monster man. He is very hungry so he goes to see what is in the fridge. He pulls out some ham and cheese with some bread and a plate. He is very satisfied and is then going to eat the sandwich. I used light from the fridge to add some more depth to the cartoon. I used a close up on all the sandwich goods and labeled all the plastic baggies for little confusion. He has successfully made the sandwich in the last slide and is very happy about it.

I used not many words in this comic because it is pretty self explanatory. He is very concerned on what to eat in the first slide which explains the hmm.. part of it. This is a very easy and simple comic to make and understand. I am sure that everyone who will look at this will know exactly what he is doing.

paper of statement of purpose on hoverround

When i look around i see al these old people. All of them are hunched over and moving really slow. I thought about the product hat could help them. I came up with the hoverround. This product will help older people move around with ease and with no problem.
When i started to think of what to change about the product i thought of things that would help. I started with a gps system so that the people can find their way around. Next i put on a TV so they could watc thier daily programs if they were out riding around. Then i put in a built in toilet so they can go to the bathroom whenever.
I also put in some bigger tires so they can go off roading. I put in some lights so they could see where to go. I also put in a horn near that so they can let people know that they are coming. A cooer is placed at the back to keep there drinks and food cold. The orange flag at the top makes it easy to spot them.
I covered the seat with silk so that they can fell nice when they sit. I also put in a shoe washer to clean thier shoes so they dont have to bend over to clean them. I also have a joystick controller so they can drive it easily.
Overall all of these things would benefit an old person. They wil help them and make thier lives way easier

Aristotle comparison

Below is Aristotle and I would have to agree with what he has to say on the right thing to do.  I like how he separates it into two things, reason and feelings.  Reason is what everyone knows to be absolutely right and absolutely wrong.  While feelings are they know what is right but they might do otherwise for the better of the situation.

Aristotle

Right Thing To Do Philosophy Essay

I believe that there is a general concept of what the right thing to do is.   People know what is right and wrong, whether they follow what they know is right is up to them.  People will believe what they want to believe.  I believe that the right thing to do would something like holding a door open for someone, or helping someone carry something.  If someone gets hurt go help them don't just try and ignore it.  In some instances the wrong thing to do is sometimes what you have to do.  For instance,  if you had little or no money and need to spend it o the very essentials you may try and steal some food somewhere to try and eat and survive.  In another case if something bad happened and you knew who did it and they were your friend, you wouldn't rat them out to a complete stranger for something stupid, even if it's the right thing to do.  I agree with Aristotle about the right thing to do, how there is reason and then there is feeling.  I would think that Feeling comes over reason for most people because it is what they think is right, or needed to be done.

comic strip description

The comic strip i used was one of Calvin and Hobbes.  I do not read comics regularly but i do read the Calvin and Hobbes comics if I come across them.  The one I used shows Calvin the little boy on the left, and his friend Hobbes the tiger on the right; they are playing a game of cards.  Calvin is the smart one of the two and Hobbes is very nice but very gullible and stupid.  At the beginning Hobbes asks for one card and Calvin gives him one.  Calvin takes his card in the next panel and no words are exchanged.  In the third panel still no words are exchanged but Calvin studies Hobbes to guess what he might be holding, meanwhile Hobbes tail is going crazy because he is so excited.  In the last panel Calvin says he folds and Hobbes asks if he is cheating because he has no idea that calvin knew he had a good hand cause his tail was going crazy.

photoshop Hotel Eden

Hotel Eden Paper

The room is a very old square shaped place.  It is bordered by four brown pieces of wood.  The room itself looks as if it is made of old dirty scratched up wood colored white.  In the top right of the room sits what looks like an orange resting on two circular pieces of wood running almost the length of the room.  In the top left of the room is some sort of fan with a black wire running down the wall and to the ground.  There is also a picture on the wall that says Hotel Eden.  Next to the picture to the left is black markings on the wall that are too hard to make out.  The bottom right of the art is what looks like some sort of water dispenser, there is a pipe angled downward running to the left and ending in what looks like a place that holds water to drink from.  In the middle of the room is a beautifully colored parrot sitting on branch looking into the fan holding the wire that it is connected to in its mouth.  The wire runs from the fan to the parrots mouth and into the what looks like a water bowl.

The picture uses a lot of light colors and value.  There are a good amount of squares in artwork he uses the space well but looks cramped for the bird.  There is a good balance of white around the parrot giving the walls a smoothish texture.  Overall all these things bring unity to the piece of art.

The Artwork is called Hotel Eden, before I opened the picture the first thing I thought of was the Garden of Eden.  After looking at the picture it did kind of remind me of it also.  It appears as if the orange in the top right is acting like the forbidden fruit not to be touched by anyone.  It is like the parrot did touch it and is now being punished for it by being trapped in a room where it cant even spread its wings.  The orange is like the reminder for why it is in the room in the first place.  It looks like the bird has had enough of being trapped and is trying to kill himself by dipping the fan's wire into the water bowl while biting down on it with its beak.

Overall the picture is unique and odd at the same time.  I think it is trying to say that there are many temptations out there for all of us and if you give into them then you will pay in some way that you will not be satisfied with.

Art Gallery

I was very interested in all the different pieces of art this large rectangular shaped room had to offer.  It was a different experience i am normally used to, I'm not one who is crazy for art but will look at it if it's there.  The first thing that caught my eye was this gigantic sculpture of the the left of the entrance.  I didn't really know what to make of it at first it was this huge torpedo shaped piece of shaved wood around twenty feet long.  It was sitting on a huge set of wheels resting at about a 45 degree angle.  Bolted on the side of the wood at about the center of it was a big crank handle thing.  At the tail end of the piece of the wood there was a metal hook with a long leather belt about forty or more feet long looping around to connect bake to the metal hook forming a circle behind the object.
Another piece of art that was cool was this pop up book with all the pages spread out all on the table standing straight up.  Every page had a very unique set of pop out stair sets all intertwining into each other making many flights all up the page.  There was also a very creative quilt with all sorts of colors.  It was oddly made in the shape of an octagon but instead of having straight sides it had like half circles and 90 degree angles until it winded into the shape of an octagon.  It was colored with brown for a border and blue, black, green patches all around.  To the right of the quilt was three medium sized pictures of different parts of the quilt giving you a closer look.
Overall the experience of seeing all these different pieces and seeing how all these different people look at art and express it in their work was cool.
